The Piper Tri-Packer ultralight is something everybody should fly, but
only after they get the required annual inspection right after they buy
it.

However, there is no mention of how the engine stalled, no mention of
terrorism, nothing about how no flight plan was filed. Neither is the
airplane called a 'Cessna' anywhere in the article. Nothing is said
about how the airplane fell close to a school, home where children were
playing, or anywhere else it might have hurt someone.

Or that no flight plan had been filed.

nah - it doesn't have the required comment about not having filed a
flight plan.

I did love the bit about the annual report required soon after buying
an airplane.

My favorite is that it was a "Tri-Packer" built by Piper and was an
"Ultralight."

I don't really blame the reporters for the flight plan thing though. If you
read any FAA report it would be easy to think it was critical to flight.

A definate candidate!

"recently bought the airplane and left the Tecumseh airport enroute to Falls
City to do the annual report required any time someone purchases a plane.

The plane, a 1959 Tri-Packer, [LOL!] was very similar to the Piper Club
airplanes.
According to the Nemaha County Sheriff's Office, Ensor's plane, believed to
be an ultralight, went down about 11:20 a.m. Wednesday near Nebraska Highway
105 west of Johnson. "
