. 159.7... Almost anything you can think of to convert google calculator will do it. (anyone know muchb about rods? 1 mile is equal to 320 rods) You can even do such things as 5+5+5+6+10/4-3 etc etc and it will figure it out for you. Well bugger me! It even knows about slugs. Fancy that! |

I've never really felt comfortable with knots, so I had Google convert them to something more intuitive: "1 knot in furlongs per fortnight". (Answer: 3093.29516) They make much more sense now ; |

See http://www.onlineconversion.com/speed_all.htm
That site has many conversions too. Now I just have to figure out how to get online while flying. ;-) Normally my airspeed indicator and GPS are in MPH. I do the conversion, if necessary, on the ground while planning the flight. "Nathan D. Olmscheid" wrote in message . 159.7... One good place to check out formulas and such is google. Example: type in google search bar: 1 mph in knots it will come back with 1 mph = 0.868976242 knots |

if your airplane is in MPH and your checklist is in knots then you have
the wrong checklist for your aircraft. Michelle BoDEAN wrote: Whats the conversion off hand to convert? Our airplanes have MPH on the AS gauge, and our checklists have kts (ie Best Glide, 65kts) -- Michelle P ATP-ASEL, CP-AMEL, and AMT-A&P "Elisabeth" a Maule M-7-235B (no two are alike) Volunteer Pilot, Angel Flight Mid-Atlantic Volunteer Builder, Habitat for Humanity |
