Default Lookin' for the Cherokee Kid

Anybody 'round these parts seen that gliderslinger what's been makin'
them straight out distance
flights in that old wood an' cloth glider an' what calls hisself "The
Cherokee Kid"?
I been practicin' in my GAPA PW-2, an' I aim to take him on in the
OLC straight out category this comin'
season, but just real friendly like. I be hopin' he got his
recovering job finished by now an' the horse
glue be dried. I know my GAPA be made outta advanced composites,
'stead of wood an' cloth, but I be figurin' I
can give him a run for his money, Gawd willin'. I ain't gonna reveal
my true identity 'til
I make an actual bona-fide OLC flight, that ain't greyed out, but
he'll know soon enough.

Signed,

X

Can't wait to see the PW-2 at the top of the standings on OLC. I myself was doing some figuring the other day on what it would take for Leah and I to break the Kansas state multiplace 100km speed record in our clubs 2-22.

YYY is currently in the garage for some performance enhancing modifications.. I've been reading those Concordia updates on soaringcafe.com and got a few ideas. We'll be campaigning through the first half of the season on every weekend with good weather and no weddings, and Leah and I will be heading to the 13.5 meter super regional/1-26 championships in July. After that I might switch to my high performance NG-1 for some Barringer trophy attempts. We'll see.

Well Kid, it be only fair to give you warnin', I ain't got no FLARM,
an' I ain't got no transponder or PCAS, but
I be figurin' - what with you in Kansas, and me at my as yet
undisclosed location near the West Coast, there
ain't too much danger of us collidin'. I be flyin' the GAPA for the
same reasons you'uns is flyin' the
Cherokee - money, 'ceptin' I be at the opposite end of the age
spectrum from you'uns.

Signed,

X

Well, I know where one is on the West Coast: I saw it there on 2001 and
it seems to be still there. However, as of 2011 Wikipedia thinks there
are another four in the US: does anybody know where they all are?

And, for a subsidiary question, have any of them got the full windscreen,
running from the nose nacelle to the wing LE, that is shown in a photo of
a Poland-based example?

Two of them were in Palm Beach Florida area a few years ago. One was
owned by the Barrys. I was hoping to fly that one, but they never got
the paperwork straightened out.

nah if it was Pez he'd challenge me in the Spitzer Gollywomper. Surely the Gapa can at least get out of sight of the airport by the end of the afternoon
