It would be good news indeed if Bradley did a better job on "Flags" than he
did on "Flyboys". That one was quite a disappointment for me and I have not
been enthused about paying for another Bradley book.

But only Bradley returned to any semblance of a normal life. None attached
very much significance to what they had done (the flag raising, not the
battle)

When I saw the film I had the same experience as Jay. I stayed and
watched every frame of the credits till the screen went black and when
I turned to go virtually the entire audience was still there. Not a
word was said even as we left the theater.
