I think that Steve Fosset needs to leave this record attempt alone. He
has been involved in project requiring millions of dollars, but this is
gliders...many people have them. And for many people this record
attempt is within reach of many sailplane pilots. Steve needs to find
him self another "expensive" record and leave this one to us...average
people.

The absolute altitude record is now only within reach of those "average
people" who are willing to risk a very high probability of brain damage
or death. The next successful absolute altitude record will almost
certainly involve use of pressure suits (or pressurized cockpit) and
liquid oxygen systems, which pushes the cost into the Fossett range...

I agree with Mark. These high altitude flights are very dangerous and
limited to those with extreme bank accounts. I have a lot of respect for
Steve Fossett and Einar Enevoldson for their work on this record. Go get
'em!
