The nightly traffic reported for LEX doesn't seem to be enough to keep the tower open, I assumed it was a 24 hour facility just to provide radar coverage in that area. If Center radar covers that area adequately then the tower and TRACON should have been closed. Comair would then have crashed while attempting takeoff on the wrong runway at an uncontrolled field and the media would have no controller to shift responsibility to. |
