Default Butterfly vario wind indication

The wind direction/speed info on our butterfly vario is only working
intermittently. When no direction and value is given it just shows WIND
N/A. Sometimes it shows STILL AIR. All other functions seem to work
just fine. Any ideas much appreciated?

Is the inertial system working? Go to the AHRS page, far right. In the upper right hand corner there will be between none and 3 green dots. This is an indication of confidence in the stability of the inertial platform. You hope to see two or three. One or none is weak. If the inertial system is hosed, the wind indication will indicate N/A.

Default Butterfly vario wind indication

Today after a long hiatus, my Butterfly vario was showing wind in 3 digits.

Now I did substitute a GPS antenna after the cable got mangled during the annual. The GPS position seems to be fine.
