Default Official Report Published on Glider Lightning Strike

The link does not seem to be working, I keep getting a note the server cannot be found. Might you have another link?

Many glider pilots, particularly in the UK, will be aware that a K21 based
at Dunstable was destroyed by an airborne lightning strike on 17th April.
Fortunately, both occupants baled out successfully, suffering only minor
injuries.

The official report on the accident by the AAIB (Air Accidents Investigation
Branch) has now been published, and can be found at

http://www.open.gov.uk/aaib/dec99htm/bga3705.htm

The report contains a comprehensive analysis of the accident as well as a
detailed discussion of the effect of lightning strikes on composite
airframes and metal parts, and photographs and diagrams.
