a 110 lb. 16:1 L/D foot launched ultralight was surpassed long ago by flex wing hang gliders at ~70 lbs. Why bother?

??? the best current rigid wing hang gliders seem to be 17:1 (claimed). Which flex wing gliders achieve 16:1?
