"What starts as the personal memoir of an F-105 pilot turns out to be a
solid work of aerial combat history"--Darrel Whitcomb, in the October
2004 issue of Vietnam magazine.

Better late than never!

Happily the Smithsonian Institution Press keeps its good sellers
around forever. (If it had been Doubleday, Ed, the book would have
been pulped 18 months ago.)

These military history magazines are really something. My brother just
sent me the current copy of World War Two, and it contains a review of
"Flyboys". (Found nothing wrong with it, either! Thought it was a
great explanation of Bushido, for crying out loud.)

I started reading "Flyboys" but had to put it down early on. It's ad nausem use
of the term "flyboy" turned me off in a big way. I guess the author couldn't
spell "pilot" or "aviator".
