I'm sure it only got up about 18 foot and when it was a bit of a trouser filling experience then it flopped into the sea/river again. It would still be a unique simulation though. I seen it in some museum in Oregon. I can remember there were smaller planes situated or suspended under the wings of the Spruce Goose to illustrate the size but when you see it close up it looks quite fragile... well I certainly would not step in it if there was any possibility of someone that could attempt to lift it off the ground. |
