Default fly with ce silver badge question

It says that the fly with ce is now approved for silver badge flights..

BUT....

If I am reading the rules correctly...it seems that you must also carry an
additional, approved, calibrated, pressure altitude recording device?

Is this the case? If so, what is the point of the fly with ce? As in
silver climb....and loss of altitude in silver distance?
