Default Flying Pictures

I have taken a bunch of pictures flying over the past couple of months
and put them online in an album. They are not professional, but I
like them. Feel free to stop by and take a look.

Do you have to have some sort of special plug in to see them?

I used to fly out of SJC and RHV, but now while living and
working closer to the peninsula and because SJC is hostile
to general aviation, I switched to PAO. I sure liked it at
SJC, I prefer class C, I feel safer with hand over between
tower and approach/departure.

Here are some more flying images from places far afar!

Wow, thanks! I flew there many years ago, back in 78-79. Any shots of Kauai?

No Kauai, sorry. I wish!

Paradox is that on Kaua'i, which is blessed with 3 airports,
nobody charters aircraft. And because the channel crossing from
Oahu is so long, a flight from Oahu would be a longer undertaking.

I recall that Messy (instructor with Oahu Aviation, she is now
with United Airlines, they told me) explained me that during
the crossing of the Kauai Channel both islands vanish from
sight for a longer period of time. They got problems with VFR
pilots getting disoriented. Crossing of these channels is a
procedure, which nobody should take too lightly. State of Hawaii
provides a manual for pilots and describes in it a special
procedure with Honolulu Radio with crossing checkpoints, which
involves an automated start of a rescue party in case of lost
contact.

I am not sure if Big Kahuna would have rented aircraft without
instructor to someone to cross this channel toward Kauai. Even
once you cross it, this would be a longer flight from Lihue toward
the most attractive part of the island, what is arguably NaPali.
Landing on Princeville is possible only with permission, its a
private airport.
