Default Tax deductions for aircraft ownership for instruction

Are there any CFIs out there that own their own plane?

I'm just curious if the IRS has hassled you about tax deductions for your
plane.

Nope. I don't know of any CFIs who teach in their own aircraft. Its
very difficult to get insurance coverage for commercial operations with
just one aircraft. Most people tend to lease their aircraft back so
they can get the FBOs group insurance rate. Leasing back can be a good
deal for commercial use aircraft (vs personal aircraft).
