Default Dogfights! Sinking of the Bismarck

Exciting aerial action. This series aired on PBS last night
in entirety. The Hood vs the Bismarck, the most famous
warship that ever existed.

I can't hear the words "Sink the Bismark" without recalling my mom's
old Johnny Horton records.

"So hit the decks a-runnin' boy and swing the guns around. When we
find the Bismarck we gotta cut her down..."

Thanks for the link.

You're very welcome. I found it fascinating, especially in light
of the fact that those bi-planes were thought too antiquated to
contribute to the war effort. How freakin' brave of those pilots to
head into that flack so low and slow. Beauty of it all, that was
what was needed to stymie the big guns. They simply couldn't
aim that low!

The efficacy of aviation vs. naval power was both illuminated
and epitomized in this epic battle.
