Default wave camp in South Africa

NOTICE ABOUT WAVE CAMP IN SOUTH AFRICA FOR INTERNATIONAL
GLIDER PILOTS!
From Mark Howse

Please be so kind as to forward this notice to any
glider pilots who may be interested in an unforgettable
experience.

This gliding wave camp is held at an airfield called
El Mirador which is situated at the base of the Central
Drakensberg in South Africa. The airfield is at an
altitude of 4200 feet and the top of the Spectacular
Drakensberg reaches 11,000 feet. We use tow planes
as well as self-launching gliders.

The camp is a golden opportunity for goal flights in
altitude and distance. Mainly wave and ridge lift is
used. Altitudes of 35,000 feet and distances of around
1000km have been achieved in single flights.

I am an experienced instructor now based in a town
called Potchefstroom which is in central South Africa.
I am presently the C.F.I. for our gliding club and
have many hours experience in numerous gliders and
on the well known Motor Falke SF 25.
I have regularly attended our very popular Drakensberg
Wave Camp which is held every year during the month
of August for a duration of 14 days. This year will
be my 9th camp.

The camp is run by professional glider pilots. In addition
to the gliding, there are many other attractions in
and around the spectacular Drakensberg. A memorable
experience is guaranteed!

The following package is offered to licensed glider
pilots who are eager for adventurous flying.
