Guess it may just be students that do not care
and teachers that do not make them care.

??????????????????????

Hmm. How do you propose that teachers "make" the students care?

I await your solution.

Well Jim I would say the best answer would be to stop promoting students
that they know can not read or write. It happens everyday! I have to nieces
that are prime examples of it.

Starting with yourself? "to" nieces?

Sorry, wrong answer. Failing them will not make them care. It will only
mean they will drop out of school, after they are not promoted, and they are
old enough.

There is no right answer; this was a trick question. Teachers can not
"make" students care. Parents have the best chance, but I'm not sure even
that will always work.

And BOb, please note that I have made great strides in catching my own
mistakes, after you held my feet to the fire.(several times) Thanks. (I
think) :-)
