That price assumes you buy the entire US. If you have an airplane that
will never see the other coast, you can buy 2/3 of the US for about $100
less per year. No sense buying something you'll never use.

Unlike the GNS480 which uses standard CF cards (and can be
programmed in any CF reader that lets you write to a windows
filesystem), the 430/530 cards are goofball proprietary
and so is the Skybound programmer for it.
