Default Worthy EAA Construction Books

I'm a beginner interested in building an amateur built plane. I've
decided to buy some books from the EAA. Probably all are pretty good,
but I don't want too much repetitive material. I'm trying to decide
between the following:

Tony Bingelis Books: Engines by Tony Bingelis. A treasury of
practical engine information for aircraft builders, owners, restorers
and mechanics. Here are all the right answers at your fingertips.
(224 pages) $24.95; Firewall Forward By Tony Bingelis. Engine
installation methods for amateur-built aircraft. (302 pages) $24.95;
Sportplane Construction By Tony Bingelis. An essential handbook for
light aircraft homebuilders. (366 pages) $24.95; Sportplane Builder
By Tony Bingelis. Aircraft construction methods and techniques of
the amateur homebuilder. Includes information on selecting an
aircraft design. (316 pages) $24.95

3 Book Combo Package: Custom Built Sport Aircraft Handbook/Aircraft
Welding/ Wood Aircraft Building Techniques Combo $29.95

Kitplane Construction Contains insight into every aspect of homebuilt
aircraft construction. Second edition. (432 pages) $32.95

Techniques of Aircraft Building A step-by-step guide to building
tube/wood/fabric aircraft. (154 pages) $16.00

Welder's Handbook By Richard Finch - 2nd edition. (169 pages) $17.95*

between the following:

Total cost of books = $196.65 (If you can't get them cheaper)

SWAG of total cost of homebuilt airplane = $39,330.00

% of money spent on books = 1%

Resale value of books = $98.33

Non-recoverable investment in knowledge = $98.32 or 1/2 of 1%.

Avoiding ONE major f**kup during construction = Priceless

Another one that I just found was: Sky Ranch Engineering Manual.474 pages
text, and 20 pages of Glossary and Index. It is about, no..inside and out
about aircraft engines. It even has a section about parts and pieces that
are in your engine that serve no purpose. $19.95. There is also a CD.
I'm impressed. John Schwaner did sufficient in-depth research to merit an
advanced college degree.

You forgot to mention the FAA's own A.C. 43.13-1B that has 80 years worth
of tried and true construction and repair information that just might work
on some homebuilt aircraft too. R Little

Kitplane Construction then discusses the issues relevant to construction,
while Ken's book gives the benefit of his test pilot expertise in
evaluating many common homebuilts.

Check your local public library... many library systems have Kitplane
Construction in circulation.

Ron "Well, there goes $1.50 in royalties" Wanttaja

Mine doesn't. Can I get an autographed copy? ;-)
