FAA Administrator Marion Blakey on Thursday said if the agency's
reauthorization does not tie its revenue to its business costs,
"the improvements will sputter along, the delays will only get
worse and every weekend will feel like Labor Day."

Fortunately, it's time for Ms. Blakey to "sputter along" to officially
representing the airline industry instead of presiding over the FAA
with a bias toward the airline industry.

What are the odds of getting an FAA admin with a bias toward GA?
Has there ever been one with such a bias?

Under the current administration, nil. The best we can hope for is a
temporary FAA administrator appointment, and an unbiased permanent
appointment under the new administration in 2009.

Has there ever been one with such a bias?

At least FAA administrators of the past were airmen. What can be done
to see that such a requirement can be reinstated?

The FAA is politically correct. It would have to be an airperson. If
they are just a figure-head, that makes them an airhead.

I take it then that your answer is "no"

I'm not old enough to provide a definitive answer to your question
regarding past FAA administrators with a bias toward GA. Are you?

And the bitching goes back a long way.
