Default First West to East Sierra Crossing from Hollister

On Labor Day, Brian Choate flew his DG300 from Hollister to Truckee, setting a
milestone by crossing the Sierras in the middle over Yosemite.
As far as we know, this is the first time someone "really" crossed the Sierras
from
west to east, rather than going around the north or south end.

Congratulations Brian!

Thanks Gary, and Ramy,
Yes the 1st half up to Half Dome was the worst, the
terrain is very intimidating! Once I connected with
the clouds and broke through the inversion at 10k I
felt much better and confident.

Cheers

Great flight. Those of us who have crossed over, even
to the North,
recognize the puckering that occurs as you climb up
in the first weak
thermals to get enough altitude to cross. Well done.
