Default Irish Vampires?

Can anyone help me with the history of the de Havilland Vampire service
record with the Irish Air Corps?
Any links to good websites or decent reference books about the whole Irish
military or even just the Air Corps are much appreciated. I'm more
interested in the period from 1935-1965.
I've seen the official Irish military website, I'm looking for more detailed
stuff.

Thanks,
Nick

Hi Sean

That was nice of you to do all his work for him. I typed in Irish Air
Corps and de Havilland Vampire on Google, and within 7 seconds I had
quite a few sites.

Cheers...Chris

I'd done that and found a few of those sites Sean kindly suggested plus
quite a few 'rip-off' sites repeating what scramble.nl report... didn't get
the forum though. No sites explain what they did in any detail etc.

So, six Vampire T.55s served between 1956 and 1976, based at Baldonnel. One
Vampire T.11 during 1963. Registration numbers of 185, 186,187, 191, 192,
193 and 198.
But at http://www.alphalink.com.au/~cask/Baldonnel.html these are described
as T.39s. An IAC equipment specific designation?

I like the way www.irishmilitaryonline.com calls 5 bases (one on a ship)
numerous!
I will look for Wings Over Ireland through my local library.

Thanks for all the help,
