DISCUS 2 a WT & BALANCE
HI
My Discus 2a manual says the ARM for Pilot & Parachute is ( -17.72 in.) The A&P who did the WT & Balance 10 years ago used ( -15.20 in.) for the ARM. Did he make a mistake? It's a big difference. If you have a D2a can your check your WT & BAL for me. If I could get a copy of your W&B that would be great. Thanks Glen |

CG will vary with seat back position and thickness of parachute. Pilot CG is approximately your belly button. Climb in with chute on and measure the horizontal distance from the wing leading edge to your belly button (use a pumb-bob, then mark edge of canopy rail). If memory serves me, Discus performs best at 92% of allowable range..

Thanks Glen you can back calculate your actual pilot/chute arm if the W&B includes the empty weight as well. SeeG makes this and other calculations for W&B very easy (shameless plug). Visit www.glideplan.com for more info. Matt |
