Default Avionics Offer To The Katrina Area

I have the following equipment available for LOAN to entities either
involved with the Katrina rescue effort OR airports affected by the
disaster:

One (1) handheld 720 channel STS radio with two (2) NiMH battery packs and
110 vac charger.

One (1) "ferry pack" consisting of a 7.5 AH gel-cell battery in waterproof
case, Microair 760 channel radio, and interface box for your headphones,
speaker, and microphone. I can rig up a portable antenna upon request and
can rig up a solar charger on request.

One (1) Narco Com 11A 360 channel radio with pigtails for power and
phones/mic (no battery).

Within reason, as many jury-rig portable aircraft com antennas (airborne or
ground station) as necessary for your rescue efforts. These will be
"no-deposit, no-return" when the rescue effort is over.

I will need SOME form of reasonable assurance that these are being used for
the purpose intended and not sitting on some bureaucrat's desk who wants to
listen in without any reason to do so.

I will need SOME form of reasonable assurance that they will be returned
within some reasonable time period and that some reasonable care will be
taken to keep them from harm -- realizing that accidents can and will
happen.

I will need SOME form of other corroboration that you are who you say you
are and are doing what you say you are doing -- a reference to your local
FSDO, preacher, law enforcement agency, fire department, etc.. (Bet you
never saw "FSDO and PREACHER" in the same sentence before.)

Jim
