Default Mexico-Clubs or Private Owners?

Greetings... I may be moving soon to Mexico City, and I want to be
able to keep flying.

If there are any Mexico experts out there, I have these questions:

-- If I am residing in Mexico, can I continue renting and flying
aircraft with my U.S. certificate?

-- How difficult would it be to get a Mexican pilot certificate?

-- Are there any flying clubs in Mexico City that I can join?

-- How difficult would it be to buy a plane in the States and bring it
to Mexico (or vice versa)?

Thank you for any help you can offer.

The best source for information about US pilots flying in Mexico is the Baja
Bush Pilots Association, which you should join immediately.

Are you talking seasonal or forever? There are a lot of American's who
live down there. Most of them fly U.S. reg airplanes but that doesn't
mean its rigth or wrong. You first task is to look into the residency
visa. There are 3 levels of resident visa. The first allows you to
live in Mexico up to 6 months. You'll need to keep renewing it.

You can always fly a US registered plane with a US license. If you wish to
fly Mexican registry, you may need a conversion. The Baha flyers would
probably be a good source for additional info (sited in a previous post).

Let us know what you find.
