High Oil Pressure (was: Low oil pressure, high oil temp?)
What about high oil pressure. My factory zero time O-235C1 is running
at around 90 psi in cruise. This is at the very top of the allowed range. Oil Pressure Limits - (Normal operations) Minimum 60 p.s.i. Maximum 90 p.s.i. (Idling 25 p.s.i.) (Starting & Warm-up) Maximum 100 p.s.i. Is this a problem? |

I would rather have it at the upper part of the range then at the lower. |

My understanding is that this is normal for newly rebuild engines. We are
seeing the same thing on our new (lyc. factory reman.) IO-360. -- -Elliott Drucker |

The bearing clearances in a freshly overhauled engine are as tight as
they will ever be. And the oil pressure is as high as it will ever be. If it's in the green, fly it. Thomas Ploch wrote: What about high oil pressure. My 300 hour since factory overhaul O-235-L2C also runs 85-90 psi in cruise. J. Severyn |
