While the jets are interesting, the trailer is REALLY
interesting.

Well, I guess the pictures prove that RC model jet
turbines can be used for self-launch 8^)

Maybe they should have purchased a better model self launcher then they
wouldn't have to add the jet engines ;-)

The pictures ( www.genesisflyers.com ) showing my Genesis2 with a "jet
turbine" is a JetCat P200 mockup. As it looks now I will use a new Swedish
jet turbine developed solely for sailplanes. The major advantage with this
is that it starts on Jet A1 fuel (no starting gas).
The engine(s) will be 100% retractable into the fuselage when not used.

Nice idea, especially if it easily can self start. Try to design it so
that when the engines extend a cover also comes up to close the hatch.
That way you don't have the added drag of a large hole in the
fuselage.

Yes it can. One start button and a throttle, that's it. 12-15 s. from
pushing the button to full thrust. I will use the original hatch both when
the engine is inside and outside.

A great idea I think but how do you intend to get it past the European
beurocracy - JAR etc? I know the BGA is 'less than receptive' to the idea of
retrofitting sustainer jet engines.
