Default Portland ME to Chester CT. VFR route??

Hi,

I'm from Canada, can anyone offer an opinion on the best route from Portland
ME to Chester CT, VFR no Mode C?

If anyone knows the area, I would appreciate your comments.

Thanks

My plane was based there until about 2 years ago. It's a Beech
Sundowner, blue over white, divided by a gold stripe.

You live at a really nice field.
