Default Training as a teenager....Any advice?

Advice to a teenager,
Spend other people's money as long as they let you do it.
You are avoiding the greatest single regret of all pilots, "I wish I had
started flying sooner".

To the Original Poster:

There was a kid who was a regular around here a few years ago who had
extremely supportive parents (or more than his fair share of luck,
depending on how you want to look at it). They bought him a 15x for
time building and put in avionics that were worth more than the airframe.
He wound up going to Cornell. Do a google groups search on Justin Maas
(anyone know WEH to him?).

But for all his good fortune, he was also motivated and mature way beyond
his age. If you're motivated and have financial suport, go for it. If
you're motivated and don't have the financial support, you can still
do many things. One traditional way is to get a job doing line service
and talking to the owners. Glider training is another excellent way to
start.
