Bad Tie Downs
A few years ago there was a 1-26 blown over at Tonopah, Nv. and lots
of people took pictures of the damaged glider. I never got to see any of those pictures. Does anybody here have any of those shots or know anyone that might have them? Thanks. Boggs |

I was there but sorry no pictures. As I recall the tie down was onto a
cable using S-hooks. I changed to locking carabiners after that experience. |

Thanks. Boggs Gary, that was #032. I was not there that year, but I'll check the club archives and members/owners to see if they have any pictures. Yes it was an open hook tie down strap, the wing bounced in high winds when a gust front came through and the hook slipped off the cable on the ramp. T |

Yes, that is the correct incident. I got in the wreck and several
people took pics of me in the poor old girl. I would love to get copies of those pics. Boggs |

The blue was still on the winglet when I saw A5 at JABOG last summer. #032 had a great history. |
