... I have always thought that the CM.170 was a neat and sleek looking craft but I'm not too sure that this colour scheme suits it. Very enjoyable being able to see these pictures, thank you. -- Andrew B (Cheshire, England) "Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible." (Lord Kelvin, president Royal Society, 1895.) |

What does the VP stand for? My French is good enough for the 'last' bit.

What does the VP stand for? My French is good enough for the 'last' bit. VP stands for Visite Périodique, i.e. periodical overhaul, a visit where an a/c gets extra service time. This a/c had been the last processed by the Maintenance Unit in charge of the CM170s in the French Air Force, thus meaning a soon expected end of operational service... The insignia of this unit was, at the beginning, blue and yellow, hence the special colours of the a/c. One can guess the crenellated walls and the tower on the port wing. http://bibleair.free.fr/1.INS/1.THEM.../GERMAS/ECOLE/ -- D520 Light aviation : http://tagazous.free.fr Roundels of the World : http://cocardes.monde.online.fr/v2html/en/accueil.html |
