Default 1 Hz NMEA-logfiles wanted from real soaring flights

I am looking for NMEA-logfiles from real soaring flights with original
1 Hz NMEA output, being interested in the coordinates, track and
ground speed. IGC-files are not sufficient because calculating track /
speed as well interpolating track / speed / coordinates out from a
0.25 Hz IGC-file results in lower precision.

Tnx

IGC log time is dependent on settings in the logger.

For example, the next two lines are from a .IGC file. They show a two
second interval setting.

B1041145216922N01348319EA-001700145117360

Unfortunately I don't have the time to write a script to filter for
these interval times. A massive number of files can be downloaded from
online contest sites. OLC 2002 in Germany shows about 5442 files. Gtz,

Typically loggers are set to record less frequently because otherwise
the resulting files are "too large" for some scoring programs. Our logger
frequency was reduced because of such complaints. Some older popular
loggers won't record at 1Hz anyway...

Depending on your application, its not too hard to write a smoothing
model that will produce decent results. What's your application ?
Have you tried interpolation (and with what kind of model) ?

You can use GPS_LOG WinCE, put it in raw data logging mode and record
your own data from a flight. You can get the program and all
information at http://www.soaringpilotsoftware.com

Hi ANdrea,

we have some flights at the server of the onlinecontest.org . Try the
following link
http://www.onlinecontest.org/olcphp/...c&igc=39rc3d61

you may replace the 39rc3d61 also by the following igc-filename fragments

35uf76v2,
35uf76v1,36janwi1,37ds0ccc,38180021,38ef3126,38qpa aaj,393f7kh1,39d30923, or
39rc3d61

Best Regards

Hans
