Default New gliderport opportunity in North Carolina

Dear Soaring Enthusiasts,

Rhonda and I have been running GLIDERBOOKS now for over 12 years, and the company is healthy and continuing to grow.

We are interested in taking things to the next level, by purchasing an airport and opening our own flight training school that would concentrate on bringing more youth and diversity into the sport of soaring. We would use our proven training materials, along with intense use of our Mach 0.1 simulators, to provide effective and efficient training.

Part of our plan includes the creation of a 501(c)3 non-profit to provide reduced or no-cost training to youth.

We have found an ideal location at a privately owned/public use airport in North Carolina, situated between Greensboro, Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, Charlotte, and Winston-Salem. The airport is currently up for sale, and is in danger of being sold to developers.

The airport has 39 hangars that are all rented (and has a waiting list) which would give us the income to cover the loan. The airport is owned by a family who has not really run it as a business, and is not currently involved in aviation. They don't have any written leases or rental agreements that would allow us to document income in order to obtain a bank loan.

We have created a detailed business plan and financial model that demonstrates the long-term feasibility of this project.

We are looking for support in this endeavor. If you share our vision, and can provide any type of financial or material support in the form of donations or loans, we would love to talk to you.

You can contact me at 760-831-0597, or by privately replying to this post.

We are very eager and motivated to make this dream a reality.

Sincerely,

Russell Holtz and Rhonda Clerkin
