There is or was a company in Los Alamitos, near Long Beach that would
mold (or blow if desired) a canopy. If the old canopy is not
destroyed, it can serve to make a mold. The prices were reasonable and
good quality. I hope they are still in business.
Aircraft Windshield Co.

I believe Robert Mudd at Moriarty is the Grob representative in the
states.

There is also a Yahoo 'Group' for Grob Sailplanes that might provide
some leads.

Are you looking for a complete canopy or just the Plexiglas?

I have had a very good experience with Cee Bailey in LA - $319 for a
tinted canopy for a 1-26 WITH CERTS.

Y'all know an aftermarket canopy without certs is not legal if parts
from the Mfg are available right?

I am quite sure that a replacement canopy could be manufactured by the
owner of the aircraft for their particular aircraft as allowed by
14CFR§21.303(b)2. The required owner's participation in the
manufacture could be as simple as telling Ray or Judy or whoever "use
aircraft grade acrylic of thus and such thickness and make the profile
match that indicated by these broken pieces." Once that's done, all
you need to do is find an A&P who will install the transparency and
sign for it.

Here's a great Don Dodge article on 14CFR§21.303(b)2 on the Web. It
describes the process and offers a cautionary tale:

Thanks, Bob K.
