Default CFI Checkride today

Passed the CFI checkride with the FAA...

Started last Thursday but there was a static wick missing on the right
flap (!) so the a/c was "un-airworthy."

Anyway, resolved that, did the flying part today in an A36 and a C172
in gusty MVFR, and I flew home with a temporary CFI-SEL today.

CFII will be next in a few weeks.

Attaboy.

I'm thinking about it. Retirement job next year, maybe.

Seconded.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that, aside from the written and
practical tests, I've fulfilled nearly all of the requirements for a CFI-SP
ticket - and you don't need a medical for that, either. No commercial, no
instrument rating, no complex aircraft.

I might pursue that one of these days, once I get myself fully back in the
groove.

Thanks!

Go for it -- I see no down side.

Preparing really helped me sharpen up all aspects of my flying and
knowledge -- and I know that's just a small subsection of what I'll
learn teaching others.

Apparently there are very, very few CFI-SP out there...
