Default New Garden PA Pilot Killed When Plane, Glider Collide

Several versions of the incident out there. Anyone witness or get the
real story?

Did these actually collide or what happened?

Pilot Killed When Plane, Glider Collide
October 6, 2007 - A plane trying to tow a glider in the air collided
with the glider just after take off, killing the pilot.

The accident happened at the New Garden Airport in Chester County at
10:30 this morning.

Officials said the glider was able to land safely, but the plane hit
the ground and burst into flames.

The pilot of the plane was pronounced dead at the scene.

The FAA is investigating.

No collision ... glider released early in tow as tug quickly got out of
normal position. Tug took off and did immediate wing-over into
ground. Knowledgeable observers (not me) thought sequence looked like
pilot incapacitation or mechanical issue. We'll have to wait to see
what FAA finds out.
