I believe Tom Knauff also sold cars in a previous life. Perhaps that
explains his "Gliders are free!" sales pitch. Still as long he doesn't try to sell you a special undercoating or upholstery treatment for your new Discus he's okay with me. |

Oh, I hope that Kilo Kilo was trying to be funny. Like everybody else I have found Tim to be very helpfull and honest. He meets his deadlines and the products he offers are as advertized. Keep up the good work Tim Tom Idaho |

Man...I look forward to reading the R.A.S postings generally...it MUST be
winter and people have nothing better to do than to try to start fights...For my two cents worth Tim Mara has been fair and honest and never once lied or mis-led in any way shape or form...I have bought items from him for at least 5 years and he's not let me down once. total respect for the man and his store...Plus I love looking at his used classifieds...And he really is great about offering advice... The guy who attacked Tim should be emberassed...The one thing about this venue, is that it's pretty hard to not end up looking like an ass...to everyone...when you act like one. I sorta like that. Steve. |

Character, good judgment and restraint are required, I would expect. Since you don't bother to use your real name here and Tim does, a point goes to Tim. Since Tim doesn't disparage others on an open forum, but you do, that's another point for Tim. Tim provides a service to the soaring community far beyond any that I see you doing, so you lose again. Tell you what, KK, let me know what business you're in and I guarantee I'll not darken your door with money in my hand. But I do intend to do business again with Tim Mara. Jack |

Tim is blessed ... he is a great guy as we all know and has friends
across the country ... many who probably never met him. He used to go to a couple of meets a season .... competing or selling stuff ... and it was always great to hang with Tim. However, over the last few years, he has become something of a hermit ... running his business 14 x 7 from his basement office ... never going to meets anymore. He really has sounded burnt-out and borderline bitter the last few times I have talked with him ... I hoped my trolling would elicit some supportive comments to remind him how much he is liked in the community .... that he should get out ... go to a few meets next season ... and meet old and new friends again. Merry Xmas, Tim. |

Gee Kilo-Kilo-
Thanks for the unsolicited analysis of Tim for us...and particularly under an anonymous name. Just wondering if this is how you treat your 'friends', what we should expect from your comments about 'nonfriends'. We at Brokenstraw Soaring Club in northwestern PA are fortunate to have Tim
in our club. He does fly frequently with us, and does a great job instructing beginning students and new cross country pilots as well. For those of you who have never met Tim and want to see what he looks like, check out the photos at www.flybrokenstraw.com and follow the links to Tim's web pages. You may not know this but Tim has two daughters now that take up all of
his time. Sophie and Maggie are just rambunctious little girls who never stop begging for dad to come play. Rumor has it that he also adopted a son last year when his parents didn't want to pay his college bills. I think that means the adopted son gets a new car and a new glider for Christmas..... |

Thanks for all of you who have jumped to my support both on RAS and
privately......! You fine comments are certainly appreciated....it does one's heart good to hear that what I've done has been appreciated... but please, before coming down on "kilo kilo" too hard, I know his comment was in gist and probably should have said so, but it wasn't malicious.....KK is actually a very good customer and ....I hope also a friend as well. KK has called and emailed me personally to be sure I knew, what was, as I suspected not meant to be inflammatory and that his comments were not taken wrong... Again, my most appreciated and heartfelt thanks go out to all who have commented.... best regards Tim Mara Wings & Wheels "Jack" wrote in message m...
