Default Tracking other than SPOT

For those of us who cannot justify the expense of a SPOT given the
frequency and location of cross country flying we do, there is an
alternative I have been testing. It is inherently less reliable than
the SPOT as it uses the cell network. It does appear however to work
quite well in my location and is free. It is TrackLog for the iPhone.
I am interested in hearing from anyone else that has used this app in
their flying.

I plan on giving the Android version a try. It's call "My Tracks" from
Google. I'll post a review after my next flight.
