The FAA and industry collapse reminds me of some people's predictions
about the draft. "George Bush is going to reinstate the draft in 2003."
"2004." "If he's reelected there will be a draft in 2005." "2006."
"I predict a draft by 2007." "The last thing Bush will do in office is
reinstate the draft..."

Still waiting...

Bush or any Republican isn't going to reinstate the draft. Mainly
because the military doesn't want it. The only group I've heard that
wants to do it is a few far left wing Dems that want to make rich
people's kids go to Iraq.

And the questionable air worthiness of the hot new 787:

""They had us review all the FOD procedures,' said the contractor, who
spoke on condition of not being named. "Everybody had to walk the
floor [looking] for FOD and search the airplanes for missing tools."

He said it wasn't surprising the FAA found issues, given the high
number of workers there who "never worked on airplanes before."
....
Kurtz said the review and training sessions were not related to the
plant incident last week, when an Alenia mechanic misdrilled holes in
the crown section of Dreamliner No. 4, damaging it."

If its Boeing, I aint going...JG

Pretty obvious you've never built an airplane...

Bertie

All my Monogram kits met the drawings, so in theory I have more
experience than some Alenia staff....JG
