Default looking for an aviation poster

I'm trying to replace a poster that was damaged in a storm. It was of
a WWI plane crashed into a tree, seemingly the only tree around. The
caption underneath read "Aviation in itself is not inherently
dangerous. But to an even greater degree than the sea, it is terribly
unforgiving of any carelessness, incapacity or neglect.".

It was a gift. I've looked around and can't find another. I heard
they used to be sold at Oshkosh years ago. If anyone has an original,
and is willing to make a photo quality copy, I would be more than
willing to pay for copying, shipping, and fee for your trouble.

Thanks,

Richard

I believe Sporty's Aviation has originals of the poster but right now I
can't lay my hands on my Sporty's catalog.

I've seen them other places, too, and not just Oshkosh. You shouldn't have
trouble finding a "real" one.

No, I think you are speaking of a picture taken of a real accident in
which a Cherokee crashed into a tree near the airport in marginal
weather. From the outside the Cherokee looks fine but the pilot
suffered some injuries as I recall.
I think this is it. http://www.snopes.com/photos/airplane/flightschool.asp
There are various versions out there, some are doctored.

BTW: Despite what Shopes says, even this picture is slightly doctored.
The "Learn to Fly" sign actually faces the other way. The picture was
doctored to show the face of the sign rather than the back (to make it
more funny). If you look at the second picture facing the other
direction you can see that now the sign faces the other way.

Does that mean you found it now? It's under "Additional Pictures"

I like the "Free Avgas Tomorrow" and "Free Rides Tomorrow" signs. There
should be a third one that says "Bankrupt The Day After Tomorrow"

No, the poster he's talking about was commonplace a few years ago.
