Still not Industrial Light and Magic, but a first step, anyway. 3D San Antonio sectional rendered on a rotating sphere. aka: what cowboy astronauts think the world looks like. Some people are already wondering, "Why? Why would anybody do that?" Well, that's an interesting question. caveats - No executables, dlls, etc. involved. It's just an animated Gif. 7604737 (count 'em)7,604,737 great big bytes. I really did work at keeping the file size down. But I dare say this one is for the fast lane exclusively. Mot certified for navigation. The source chart was out of date. (sorry) http://www.home.earthlink.net/~tp-3/!sat.gif So, who has the fastest rig? Anybody significantly under five minutes? Richard ps: when they say 10 meg per email puppet, they mean it! |

Around 15 seconds? g What the hell kind of alien technology are you playing with, Jim? Mee too. Maybe ...14 seconds :-) The globe pulled up (full view) instantaneously but was spinning (somewhat) slowly while it finished loading. When it finished, it spun a little bit faster. I can click it to make it almost full screen. That's it. Does it do anything else? I can hold down the click and stop it. http://www.home.earthlink.net/~tp-3/!sat.gif Montblack Don't tell Jim in NC mine was 14 sec - ok? The Fastest Gun Alive (1956) - Glenn Ford. |

I was going to upload it to my web cell phone.
Well, it's neater than anything THEY'VE got on it. But the cell phone took one look at that thing and called the cops. Gave them GPS coordinates and everything! No charges filed, as long as I keep it on a laptop from mow on. 12 minutes via wireless. |

Ditto, globe up instantly and spinning smoothly about 15 seconds later. Ron Wanttaja |
