Default SSA Regional Webinar - Introduction to XC - Black Forest SS 1-29-21 7pm MTN

Folks:
Sorry for the short notice.
Tonight at 6 pm Pacific - 7 pm Mtn, is an SSA Chapter-hosted webinar.

https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/reg...500?source=RAS

Black Forest Soaring Society is the host, using the SSA-available software, and managed by their local BFSS team of admin and speakers.

Dave Rolley will present on Cross Country basics:

Review of the SSA Awards programs from ABC and Bronze badges through FAI and World Distance Awards, to OLC posting. Working with your CFI.

reviewing using the program for defined local tasks on an achievement board to track progress: Proving Grounds via Cu-Nim Gliding Club.

Online resources for study and mental practice, including Condor. This webinar should be valuable for those wishing to tippytoe responsibly into XC, and as a model for those who are asked to teach and supervise those beginners.

The BFSS series will continue with separate event enrollments into May on Friday evenings (same time) and separate announcements.
Thanks to Dave R, Alice and Mark P, Quay S and others.

The SSA Webinar software is available for free use by SSA Chapters and Business Members for local ( or national ) programs. Contact Cindy B, or Alexa O at Hobbs for access to the software for your teaching/sharing events. It does require a :30 minute training session for local hosts to familiarize with the software, a minimum of 3 days prior to your event. There are some significant advantages/differences over Zoom software.
Only one event can run at a time on a national scale, so the first to inquire wins the time slot.

To allow this mostly volunteer effort to populate the most webinar occurrences, we ask that you calendar events a minimum of two weeks in advance.

Regional events may or may not qualify for WINGS credits.
Regional events might not be archived at SSA webinars.

Please don't bomb Bruno or Dave's email with questions on this development. They got SSA Webinars started, but Cindy and Alexa are the contacts for the 2021 season.

Soar safely, stay healthy, have fun,

Cindy B
SSA Webinar Committee
