Sounds like it could be very expensive, and bad news for the passengers
who had to disembark. I once had something similar on a LH flight
SFO-FRA, when there was a technical problem with the plane. We had to go
back to the terminal and stand in line at the LH desk for literally
hours getting our flights rebooked. I had to take the next flight out
24hrs later, and the plane was jam packed to the very last seat.
