Default Minden's Scream'n!

Flew Minden last Wednesday and turned Bishop in 2 hours flat (dry)!!!
Love that cruise'n at 16....had a 20 mile blue hole around Bishop, so
I climbed to 18 and headed in..............just cleared the ridge on
the Sierras, coming out. Thanke to the wind-sock on my new SN10, I
knew the prevailing wind would be kicking off thermals behind the main
ridge, yep.........8 to 10, back up to 16ish. Thanks, Dave, you done
good!

Region 11 championships will be held at Minden, June 18-22 and unlike
Parowan, we have plenty of room for all. John Leibacker and I just
cleaned up the Minden data base with 2 new close-in turnpoints so's
you can fine tune the last 30 minutes on that MAT. We added a point
half way to Gerlach, so's you can chicken-out if your MAT isn't all
you hoped it would be. Got rid of the confusing Flying M and Flying
Mouse names, they are now Hilton and Topaz...................Thanks
John, the soaring community owes you an unpayable debt of gratitude,
you's the man!

Come join us, can't make Minden? Come out to our SSA sanctioned 'All
Sports' Regionals at Air Sailing, July 23-38

JJ:

Sorry you didn't stay longer: it was smoking yesterday too, and after
a slow start today, CUs cover the valley. There's a strong wind out
of the west, but the air remains pretty unstable. Some dam' fine
flyin' weather here as this is written. Fred

Oh, and I forgot to say, we had a private glider drop in from Cal City
yesterday afternoon -- 519 Kms in about 5 hours. He joined us on the
back deck for a barbecue, then towed out of here about11:00 this am on
his way back to Cal City. It's still early in the afternoon and I
haven't heard if he's home or not, but before he left he said he's
thinking about flying up and back soon instead of spending the night
here. That'll look good on the OLC. Fred
