Cessna 172 F Weight and Balance
My partners and I recently purchased a 1965 Cessna 172F.
The POH has weight and balance data that you would expect, except that it focuses on moment only, gives no arm figure. Usually no big deal. BUT, we recently bought a 396 and it will do the weight and balance data for you if you enter the arm data to return a CG and determine if it is inside the weight restrictions and inside the envelope. Does anyone know where I can find full weight and balance data on this airplane? THanks, Jamie A. Landers PP-ASEL |

Some STCs (e.g. engine upgrades) may modify the TCDS... thus the POH and its supplements (if any) -Cory -- ************************************************** *********************** * Cory Papenfuss * * Electrical Engineering candidate Ph.D. graduate student * * Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University * ************************************************** *********************** |

I think I probably mis-stated the question...I'm good with the math to
get the arm...the chart of the acceptable envelope is listed as a cross of weight and moment...wondering if there is any way I could get a CG chart... Weight * Arm = Moment
so ... Moment / Weight = Arm Ok...I'm down with this, but I have another question...from these figures refresh my memory on how you get CG. For example if the weight is 2740 and the moment is (296.03*1000) I know the CG is 111.326, but how is the ciphered? Kobra |

And based on your weight and moment your CG is not 111.326 but is really 108.04 |

Simple division. And based on your weight and moment your CG is not 111.326 but is really 108.04 Ooops...you are correct. I took the CG from my 296 GPS and I had the wrong arm listed for the rearseat passengers set up. I took the moment off an excel spreadsheet I was using to work the same problem and the arm for the rearseat passenger was correct on that. Sorry for the confusion. Kobra |
