Nope (unless Soaring mis-printed his name)

Given the timing, any chance this was published in Tom Knauff's magazine of about the same time frame? I think there may be a few copies in the next room.

Got it, Soaring Safety Corner, February, 1985, pg41. "Some thoughts on death by sailplane" Dennis Galotti, one L.

Just have a talk with any experienced crop duster, they can fill you in on all the intricacies of low level turning.

Converting the entire archive to searchable text is doable...
I think Dennis's note was a "Letter to the Editor" but I'm not sure.

I think the name you may be looking for is Dennis Gaiotti. The Soaring Archive is word searchable, especially with the correct terms, wildcards, and quotes.

There was a Dennis Galloti from the Portland, OR area. I flew with him a number of
times, and bought a self-rigging dolly and another fellow manutactured.

Dennis Galotti, Lake Oswego, SSA membership lapsed 1998. Sadly, deceased.
