Ten thousand bucks and 7000 hours of airframe time? Caveat Emptor
dude, Caveat Emptor. Put another way, you get what you pay for.

The total hours alone don't mean much, but the condition and storage
history do. For that price I would expect it needs a refinish and has
a cracked canopy. Also check for damage history which is OK if it was
properly repaired in a certified repair shop and signed off in the log
book if experimental licence or FAA form 337 if licenced in standard
category. A refinish will cost you a good 15K + another 5K to replace
a canopy. You may end up with a 30K investment for a glider that you
could have bought for say, 28K? But, if you have the time, skills,
tools, shop and materials to do the refinish
yourself......................go for it!

Cheap LS3a with 6900 hours if in Europe I think is due to the airframe life
being 7000 hrs until a recent TN from DG Flugzeugbau, which states" The
max. service time is increased to 12000 hours. The amended maintenance
pages for the variants LS3, LS3-a, LS3-17 are enclosed in the maintenance
manual revision see 1." This may not concern you on Experimental. See TM
3053 at http://www.dg-flugzeugbau.de/Data/TM-LS/LS3/
