Default panel builder

For those of you who, like myself, like to play with Panel Builder,
they have updated their website with the Garmin GPSmap 296, Blue
Mountain EFIS Sport, and AVmap's EKV-IV.

Neal,

Can you give us an idea of what this site does? I tried to access it
with my default browser (Mozilla), but it wouldn't work.

That's right. It only works on IE.

It allows you to make up a proposed panel layout for your plane using color pictures of the various avionics he has available (a large number) placed on a template for your panel (he has many standard
panels available also).

Unfortunately he uses ActiveX which runs on Internet Explorer only.

So, if you have Netscape, Opera, Mozilla, etc. you cannot use it.

I normally use Mozilla also, but if I want to use his site I temporarily use the copy of IE that Microsoft has so kindly integrated (to be charitable) into my Windows XP system.

Evan,
Sorry for the delay in answering, I was away for a couple of days.
Anyway, the other guys have better answers. I assumed panelbuilder
worked on all browsers, not just Internet Explorer. Find someonel
with IE access and give it a try. It's a lot of fun.

It looks like the JS address is specific. I don't see anything else in
the visible source that shouldn't work in other browsers.

It's done in front page and unless using non standard html specific to
IE it should work.

I do not and will not use IE except to update my system. So I'll have
to wait till the site gets updated.

Richard,

Thanks for the info. I was able to find an old windows machine here at
home we keep for backwards compatability which had IE loaded. So... this
epanel site is interesting. Can we assume that the instrument faces are
to scale?
