Default New LK8000 glide computer video

Hi all,
for those interested in the status of the project, here is a video of current development point, new features etc.

http://www.bware.it/xcsoar/LK8000-1.12b.wmv

The public version will be available for free at Xmas time.
At that point it will also an opensource project, of course.

It's available now!

Here is the terrain generator:

http://xcsoar.dd.com.au/cgi-bin/terrain.pl

Just put in the Lat/Long or supply a turnpoint file and it will
generate the altitude data for XCSoar.

You can use the Cambridge format for the turnpoints and any one of
several SUA formats.

It just takes a little research to get the whole thing together.

Does XCSoar use NMEA sentences only, or is it smart enough to use the
pressure and vario data thrown in by devices like the LX7007?

Does it have a thermal assistant that compares to WinPilot Pro (which
uses said data)?

XCSoar doesn't use the PCAID sentence from my 302(a), but I don't know
about other devices.

XCSoar does not have a 3D display like Winpilot for thermal
visualisation,
but it does drop breadcrumbs on your trail, with bigger/smaller dots
when lift gets stronger/weaker. It also drops a marker at the thermal
centre automatically, so you can scurry back to it if required.
Check out the Altair Glide computer, which has been designeded to run
XCSoar.

Note prices are in Australian dollars.
