Enola Gay: Burnt flesh and other magnificent technologicalachievements
bombing=defacto "urban renewal???
"Steven P. McNicoll" wrote in message news "Dave Smith" wrote in message ... Why? To support your assertion. That's how one establishes credibility in these forums. If you haven't seen the destruction that was unleashed upon Iraq you obviously don't read the news. I read a great deal of news. But I don't recall reading that a lot houses "got levelled by Bush's Iraqi urban renewal program" as you claimed. |

One of the safest places to be during the bombing was in a residential area. A true residential area, that is, not one that had a valid target sited in it in order to discourage attack. |

Care to quote how many Iraqi civilians have been killed or maimed in the war. The Us authorities said they don't track such information. Tell us about the cluster bombs which were dropped all over. Each cluster bomb separates and releases hundreds of smaller bomblets which a large percentage doesn't explode. Many chidren have been killed by picking up this ordinance. |

I suspect the figure is less than the number that would have been killed or maimed had Saddam remained in power. Tell us about the cluster bombs which were dropped all over. How many children have been killed by picking up this ordinance? How long are the bomblets active after this ordnance is dropped? |

Not really "Forever", but for a very long time. I read a newspaper article a couple of weeks ago regarding people still being killed an injured in Laos from cluster bomblets from about 40 years ago. Apparently some of them look very attractive for child's play. |
